Sorry for the Delay-We Were Moving!

I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that we've been slacking off on the postings, but with good reason. We have been very busy moving! We discussed selling our house and put it on the market on September 23rd. The following day we had 3 showings and an over full price offer! It was some crazy times getting the house ready to be shown, 3 trips to a storage unit, lots of cleaning, headaches, signing papers, and phone calls, but was all worth it.

We found a wonderful house that was not occupied, which allowed us to close on both houses in only 34 days! It is a walk out ranch in the middle of town, with great schools, close to the park, and a wonderful yard. Sam and Bailey each love their rooms, and it is great for entertaining as we've already had guests twice with many more plans over the next month and a half.

I'll be sure to get some pictures of the new house soon. We've been quite busy getting some things done and have lots of plans for future projects. So far we've put in a fence, mailbox, outside outlets, and of course, unpacked.

Our new address is 1818 Avalon Road, Dubuque IA 52001. Our phone number will be the same as it was.

We are truely blessed to have had this work out so well for us. We had tried to sell it before but things just never worked out right. I am ever more a firm believer that everything happens for a reason!

More Pictures From the Past Two Months

Here are some more wonderful pictures we've taken but haven't had time to post. Hope you like them!

Sam's Birthday

In the middle of selling, buying, and packing, we celebrated Sam's third birthday. For his actual birthday, we had bananna splits. After much debating he decided that he wanted a frog cake. The kids had nearly as much fun decorating as they did at the party. Sam had a great time and was very thankful for everyone's birthday wishes and presents.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We went trick-or-treating in our brand new neighborhood and took the opportunity to introduce ourselves to all of our wonderful new neighbors. Sam asked why everyone was saying "Welcome to the neighborhood!"

Bailey is a girl of few words, but Daddy had taught her quite quickly to say "ROAR" as she was a little lion. At the end of the night, of course, she even let a "trick-or-treat" slip out! Some day she's going to just spouting conversation and take us all by surprise.

Sam had a good time trick-or-treating this year and I don't think future years are going to be the same. Previously we had just used the time to go around town visiting family and friends. This year however, for the short bit of walking in the neighborhood we did, Sam wanted to run from house to house so as to get more trick-or-treating in before it ended. I think we'll have to leave early for visiting next year so we can be home when it starts!

Enjoy the pictures!
