Bailey had her first play date this weekend, aside from playing with her brother. She is doing really good sitting up and likes to play with Sam's toys more than her own. Last week she sat up in the grocery cart while we shopped for the first time. I think that she really enjoyed it, although the turns had her wobbly. She's found her toes as well. If she's sitting up and starts slumping over, she'll grab her toes and start sucking on them.

Bald Eagle Program
Two weeks ago, we went to the program for the 2008 Bald Eagle Watch. They have presenters come from St. Louis with 8 different birds and talk about them. Some of the birds will fly back and forth between the two people, over the crowd. They swoop down so close that you feel the wind on your face. They had a vulture, owl, falcons, an eagle-eight in all. Four of them flew and it was amazing. Sam really like it. Bailey of course decided it was prime time for her to start babbling and fussing.
The eagle didn't fly and is with the program due to poor lungs from infection. It was beautiful and with a little coaxing, we were able to get Sam close enough to take a picture.
After the program was over, we drove around to see if we could find any ealges. We see them often so we had a few good place to look. We ended up finding one right away, and two more a short ways away.
The first one that we found was right by the museum in the Ice Harbor. He was overlooking a small hole in the harbor that was full of ducks.
We found the other two, but weren't able to get close enough to take pictures due to the snow. Next year we'll have to be sure to take the truck!

Bailey's Getting Bigger
Well, as you can guess, I still have not gotten Bailey to roll over for the camera. She enjoys laying on her belly and playing with her toys. She's playing in the jumper in the doorway now and likes her exersaucer.
She's eating cereal for breakfast and dinner now, and will probably start other foods soon.
Bailey's also really starting to get a personality. She greets everyone with a coy smile, turning her head away as she does it. When she wakes in the morning, the first things she does is turn her little head around and smile. There isn't much to make her fuss, only things being hunger, and of course being tired.
That little girl definately can sleep like her mother. Some nights she'll sleep from 6-8, then go back to sleep for the night by 9 and sleep through till she's woken up in the morning.
More pictures are coming! I'm working on getting video put together, so unfortunately the pictures get put on the back burner.

Sam's First Hockey Game
Last weekend we took Sam to his first hockey game, to see the Dubuque Thunderbirds. He had a great time. He looked forward to it all day and kept asking "We going to play hockey?" I just assumed he knew that we were going to watch the players play hockey.
He really enjoyed the music during the breaks and getting to yell at the goalie. Dubuque hockey fans are not known for their sportsmanship. Each time we scored a goal, everyone yells "It's all your fault" at the goalie. I'm waiting for that phrase to come up at home. Sam liked watching the players slam each other on the boards and the one fight there was. When the player came out of the penalty box he said "He going to be a good boy now!"
Just as exciting for him was getting to eat popcorn, hot chocolate, and Dipp'n Dots.
When it was all over though, he left crying. He kept telling us it was his turn! We stopped to see the "Sambonie" as we left, which calmed him down a little.
The best was listening to him tell Bailey all about it. He told her about saying "It's all your fault," getting to eat popcorn, cocoa, and Dipp'n Dots, and the players go "Bang". Ending with "it was over and I say my turn but Mom and Dad say time to go home."
It's amazing things we enjoyed before are better now. Not so much the act of doing them, but watching Sam do them and his interpretation of it all.
